Wounded Man In Custody After RCMP Standoff
In Vegreville, Alberta the RCMP have taken a wounded male into custody after one Mountie was shot while another ran over with by a stolen vehicle. The confrontation with authorities unfolded Monday evening on a rural property between Vegreville and Tofield as police officers were trying to locate a man regarding allegations of uttering death threats involving a firearm.
The Mountie who was shot in the upper arm has been released from hospital, while the second injured officer is still undergoing treatment. The suspect’s condition is not known.
In addition to the arrest, authorities have also taken into custody the couple who resided at the house, as all three individuals will be interviewed to determine criminal charges.
